What is Kulture Prep ?

Only students who have graduated 8th grade are eligible to attend Kulture Prep Academy. The academy is designed for re-classed students to prepare for their academic and basketball careers.

Culture refers to the shared values, practices, and beliefs of a group. At Kulture Prep our goal is to have 24 student athletes immerse themselves in a 9 month intensive educational and basketball experience. We believe that this prep year should allow the student to grow as an athlete and a student. Work Ethic, Consistency and the process of developing the right habits in the classroom and on the court is the foundation of Kulture Prep.

Our History

In the Fall of 2020 Scholastic Sports Academy was founded out of the Christ Community Church in Waldwick NJ. Going against the grain we offered 5 day in person learning and basketball with no masks. Michael Nunn, a Middlebury Graduate and the owner of perfect SAT score, was the sole teacher and Seve Cousins, Don Bosco Basketball Coach, was the director of basketball training. Students would attend class 9:00 am-11:30 am daily followed by a 30 minute lunch. The afternoon was three hours of basketball training which included skill work and 500 shots daily on the gun. Tuesdays and Thursdays students would be bussed to The Anvil in Waldwick for speed and strength training.

In summer of 2022 the founder of Scholastic Sports Academy signed a lease on a 22,0000 square foot athletic facility in Ho-Ho-kus NJ on the border of Ridgewood and Waldwick. The facility houses Kulture basketball training center 6000 square feet , The Shooting Zone 8 half courts with Shooting Guns 7000 square feet  and Lax and Lift a 6000 square foot speed and performance space which includes 40 yard of turf and a complete Rogue weightlifting space. As these businesses began to open and succeed it became very obvious that like all large sports facilities school days Monday - Friday are not busy at all as everyone is in school. With 3000 square feet of office and classroom space available, Scholastic Sports Academy was relaunched under the name Kulture Prep.
